Agricultural Science Association Conference

The ASA are delighted to welcome you back to the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny again in 2016 for the annual ASA banquet and conference. The 74th annual conference will be held on the 8th and 9th September 2016.

Set against the backdrop of Brexit, this year’s ASA conference is expected to attract more than 400 delegates and will feature an international line-up of specialist industry speakers who will focus on the ways in which people, science and markets are driving the Irish agrifood sector.

The conference will begin on the evening of Thursday 8th September with the President’s Banquet which, with 650 attendees, is now considered to be the largest and most important networking opportunity of the year for those working in sectors allied to agricultural science. A limited number of places are still available.

Conference proceedings will commence on the morning of Friday 9th September. The day itself will be divided into five distinct sessions which will examine the new context in which the Irish agrifood sector now finds itself; market growth opportunities driven by changing consumer demand; technology as a driver of insight and innovation; how to make best use of available talent; and the view from the top provided by a number of high-profile Irish and international agrifood company chief executives.
