The launch of calls for transnational research, development and innovation projects is a vital instrument for ICT-AGRI. These calls are funded by ICT-AGRI partners and associated national funding agencies, who add funding to a so-called virtual common pot, meaning that funding is restricted to consortium partners from the same country as the country of funding agency. Consortium partners from any other countries, who pays their participation with own funding, are always very welcome.
The first call under ICT-AGRI-1 was launched in 2010 and the second in 2012. In total 15 projects have been approved for funding. Seven in the first call, which are already finished, and eight in the second call, which will end in 2016. Three more calls will be launched in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
In 2014, ICT-AGRI has launched the SmartAgriFood Call in collaboration with the Future Internet Acclerator project SmartAgrifood. Submission for this call is closed.
The next call will be launched in February 2015.
