ICT-AGRI is preparing a call for transnational projects to be launched in December 2016. The call mode will be a virtual common pot meaning that grants from a funding agency can only be given to applicants from the same country. A one step application procedure will be applied with a final selection based on peer reviews. 

The scope of the call is to support activities concerning the implementation of Smart Applications on farms:

Agricultural research for scientifically-based detection and decision/deduction
Detection and deduction mechanisms for Precision Farming should be based on proper analysis of data from field/animal experiments or data from observations in practice.

ICT-AGRI Call 2017 will fund projects aiming at developing scientifically based detection and deduction mechanisms for specific purposes within the agricultural domain.

ICT development for applications for the FMS process

A current trend in the implementation and adoption of ICT is towards dedicated applications that can be used through the Internet. An example of an application for the agricultural domain could be detection of infection spots in a crop from images taken by a drone flying over the field and deduction of an appropriate pesticide treatment of the infection spots. The application takes field boundaries, crop data and machine data as input and returns geo-related driving and spraying instructions in a format an auto-steered sprayer can use.

ICT-AGRI Call 2017 will fund projects aiming at developing and/or implementing ICT applications that support the complete “observation -> detection + deduction -> action” process. Applications must be designed to be implemented in a Farm Management System
