Focus on the International Award for Sustainable Food and Agriculture

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the Government of Switzerland are inviting submissions for the 1st International Innovation Award for the Sustainable Food and Agriculture.

The call is targeted at individuals, private companies or institutions to submit a nomination for the following categories before the 28th of February 2019:

  • Award for Digitalization and Innovation for Sustainable Food Systems (USD 40 000) – Innovations that impact more than one level of the supply chain and strengthen the link between farmers and consumers;
  • Award for Innovations that Empower Youth in Agriculture and Food Systems (USD 20 000) – Innovations that strengthen the role of youth (under 35) in agriculture and food systems.

The International Innovation Award for Sustainable Food and Agriculture is funded by the Federal Government of Switzerland. It is limited to innovations related to agriculture and pastoral systems only, in accordance with the requirements and technical competencies of the Donor.
