Lazaros Nalpantidis

Lazaros Nalpantidis is Associate Professor at Aalborg University Copenhagen, Denmark. Before that, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS), Computer Vision & Active Perception Lab. (CVAP) of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. He holds a Ph.D. (2010) from the Department of Production and Management Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece in the field of Robot Vision. He holds a B.Sc. degree (2003) in Physics and the M.Sc. degree (2005) (with Honors) in Electronic Engineering both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
He has been involved in numerous research projects funded by the European Commission, European Space Agency, Greek state and Swedish state. His current research interests and involvement in international research programs include active and cognitive robot vision systems for robots in scene understanding, depth perception, obstacle avoidance and SLAM applications.
