Expertise: Abdul has a background in the application of engineering principles to soil and water management, with specific applications in soil dynamics, tillage, traction, compaction, mechanical weeding, soil remediation and management. He has 10-year experience in proximal soil sensing for precision agricultural applications, and he is member of Global Proximal Soil Sensing Committee. Abdul has implemented the vis-NIR spectroscopy for the analysis of soil properties including texture, MC and colour, OC, TN, Ca, Mg, cation exchange capacity, P and pH. His experience in vis-NIR spectroscopy and chemometric tools enabled him to develop one of three internationally patented on-line measurement systems of soil properties (Mouazen, 2006). He has also used the vis-NIR spectroscopy for the analyses of other biological materials. Abdul is an Associate Editor of Soil & Tillage Research and Biosystems Engineering, and has some 70 peer-reviewed papers in international journals.
