The overall goal of ICT-AGRI is to strengthen the European research within the area of precision farming and to develop a common European research agenda concerning ICT and robotics in agriculture. ICT-AGRI develops international research calls to pool fragmented human and financial resources over the boundaries of the participating countries, in order to improve both the efficiency and the effectiveness of Europe’s research efforts. On the 16th of April 2019 the 2nd edition of ICT-AGRI’s SRIA was published. The SRIA reviews the main current and future challenges for sustainable agriculture and agri-food systems as well as the key goals and it describes the state of the ICT and robotics art and trends as well as the current and future challenges of ICT and robotics adoption in agri-food systems.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the Government of Switzerland are inviting submissions for the 1stInternational Innovation Award for the Sustainable Food and Agriculture.

Time passes and we are nearing the end of the second ICT-AGRI iteration. On 31 December 2018, ICT-AGRI-2 will end after five productive years of funding projects and mapping/shaping the European research and innovation landscape within ICT and robotics in agriculture.
ICT-AGRI Project Summit in Dublin will reunite a total of 17 projects from 10 countries around Europe funded by the ICT-AGRI1 and ICT-AGRI2 (Information and Communication Technology and Robotics for Sustainable Agriculture) calls from 2010 to 2017. The funded projects are mainly focused on the application of Robotics in Agriculture and Livestock management.
The event aims to promote awareness of the many uses of Copernicus data and information, while providing the opportunity for hands on demonstrations and basic training regarding:
The data and information available;
Its potential uses and applications, both generally and amongst specific categories of users (Public Authorities , Entrepreneurs, etc.) or business sectors (Copernicus for Land Monitoring, Atmosphere Monitoring etc.);
The tools available to access the data and information.
The 12th European Conference on Precision Agriculture will be based at Montpellier SupAgro (Higher Education School under the aegis of the French Ministry of Agriculture). The conference venue is located close to the centre of the city (10-15 min. walk) and a list of possible accommodation will shortly be provided, including some very cheap facilities within student’s residences of Montpellier SupAgro, as well as 4-5 star accomodation in the city center.
