The SmartAgriFood & ICT-AGRI joint call on Smart Agriculture is officially opened 15 September 2014
The vision behind this call is to provide farmers and agricultural producers throughout Europe with new FIWARE enabled ICT products (services and applications) ready for immediate use through an open and easily accessible online marketplace called FIspace. This Internet enabled marketplace will address all aspects of contractual and financial relations between farmers and agricultural producers, data provider and end-users. The ICT products available will be adaptable to the local environment, including climate, language and agricultural practices.

FIWARE is an innovative, open cloud-based infrastructure for cost-effective creation and delivery of Future Internet applications and services, at a scale not seen before. FI-WARE API (application programming interface) specifications are public and royalty-free, driven by the development of an open source reference implementation which accelerates the availability of commercial products and services based on FI-WARE technologies.
FIspace is a Future Internet project, which has developed a multi-domain collaboration and integration service based on FI-WARE. The FIspace platform enables radically new business collaboration opportunities between actors in a supply chain and software service providers.
The call is a joint effort between SmartAgriFood, a Future Internet accelerator project, and ICT-AGRI.
